Pastor Tom Countryman

Rev. Thomas Countryman began preaching at Christ United Methodist Church in Cannon Falls and Stanton United Methodist Church in Stanton Sunday, June 26, 2022.

A native of Richfield, Pastor Tom holds a bachelor's degree in Speech from Augsburg College and a Master of Divinity from Bethel Seminary. He most recently served as Pastor of the Portage United Methodist Church in Wisconsin until 2020 when he toyed with the idea of retirement and moved back to Minnesota to be closer to family. He and his wife, Wendy, live in Inver Grove Heights. He has found he is not ready to be fully retired and is anxious to serve our congregation and the greater Cannon Falls-Randolph area!

• Pastor of Tainter and Colfax UMCs (WI), 1987-1996
• Pastor of Edgerton UMC (WI), 1996-2007
• Pastor of Portage UMC (WI), 2007-2020

Outside of church, Pastor Tom has worked with sexual assault victim advocates, community care programs, food pantries, have been involved in theater (youth theater and community theater). He is also a longtime student of the martial arts.

Pastor Tom presides over worship services Sundays at 8:30 a.m. at Christ United Methodist Church and 10:15 a.m. at Stanton United Methodist Church.
