Farewell Service Set for June 24

Pastor Thomas Cross will preach his farewell sermon on Sunday, June 24 at 9:30 a.m., before moving to Colorado to serve in Broomfield. His sermon theme, based upon Psalms 46 and 63, will be, "A Table in the Wilderness: What I Learned in the Desert." Lee Sucher will provide special music with vocals and guitar. Following the service, Thomas will be available for a time of refreshments and fellowship downstairs, and he welcomes all his friends in the community to attend. Beason Family Fiddlers

We will host a special Father’s Day Service at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 17. The Christ United Methodist Women will conduct the service, honoring fathers in our community. In addition, the Beason Family Fiddlers will be special musical guests. This top-notch fiddle group, led by Paul and Rhonda Beason, will present a variety of Gospel favorites throughout the service. Bible Study Group Now Reading through the Scriptures

A Sunday evening Bible study group is now reading through the Scriptures, discussing what they read each week! The community-based group, which meets at 5:00 p.m. Sundays, is currently studying Genesis and Matthew, and it is not too late to participate. Members alternate discussions between the Old Testament and New Testament each week, agreeing upon a set number of chapters to read and discuss. The Holy Bible is the textbook, although various supplementary resources are available. Bring your insights and questions! Each meeting ends in intercessory prayer. The group is growing and everyone is invited to participate in these interesting and encouraging discussions of God’s Word!

Christ United Methodist to Focus on the Lord’s Prayer

Starting April 22, we will begin a new sermon series on the Lord’s Prayer. Thomas Cross will present "Praying with Power" each Sunday in the 9:30 a.m. worship celebration. As quoted in the Casper Star-Tribune, theologian Frederick Dale Bruner comments, "The Lord’s Prayer really is the ‘Creed’ that most connects the world’s Christians."

David Sedaca to Speak

Rev. David Sedaca, a missionary representing Chosen People Ministries, will speak on Sunday, March 18. During the 9:30 a.m. Worship Celebration, Rev. Sedaca will preach on the topic of "David’s Fallen Tabernacle of Worship." Immediately following the service, the people of Christ United Methodist Church will serve a free covered-dish lunch. Afterwards, Rev. Sedaca will give a second presentation entitled, "Israel’s Glorious Future." Everyone in the community is welcome!

Verheecke to Present Acoustic Worship Concert February 25

Ken Verheecke, an accomplished Christian musician, will appear in worship at Christ United Methodist Church, February 25 at 9:30 a.m.

Mr. Verheecke, who has performed Casper concerts at The Metro Coffee House and Soldiers of the Light, uses vocals, guitar, Scripture, stories and media to convey the importance of reflecting on God’s goodness, mercy and grace. His reflective, refreshing style of acoustic music will take you beyond the busyness and pressures of life into God’s life-changing presence.

Christ UMC Offers Communion Service on Ash Wednesday

We will offer an "After-Work Ash Wednesday Service" at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday, February 21.

The worship celebration will feature a message by Thomas Cross entitled, "Bearing Divine Fruit: Enjoying the Peace of Christ," as well as time for prayer and meditation. The brief service concludes with the Lord’s Supper, which will be open to all who wish to receive it.

Christ Church to Host Superintendent

Charles Cooper, Superintendent of the Wyoming - Northeast Colorado District of The United Methodist Church, will be the guest of honor at Christ United Methodist Church, on Sunday, January 28. The service, which begins at 9:30 a.m., will feature a sermon by Rev. Cooper and the celebration of Holy Communion. The morning will conclude with a potluck fellowship lunch. Christ Church Presents Series on "Bearing Divine Fruit"

During January and February, Pastor Thomas Cross will preach on how to live a productive life in Christ. The series, "Bearing Divine Fruit," will be presented in the 9:30 a.m. Sunday Worship Celebration, starting January 14. Themes will include The Foundation of Belief, Expecting the Best from God, Good Intentions and the Road to Heaven, Following Intentions with Actions, Turning Actions into Habits, and Enjoying Christ’s Peace.
